Your body makes enough. No benefit for healthy people eating adequate protein.
Before spending a penny on supplements, make sure you've nailed the fundamentals. Supplements are the last 5% — don't skip the first 95%.
Enough protein
Aim for 1.6–2.2g per kg of bodyweight. This is the single most important nutritional factor for building muscle and recovering from training. Get this from food first.
Enough sleep
7–9 hours per night. This is when your body repairs and grows. No supplement can compensate for consistently poor sleep. It affects everything — hormones, recovery, appetite, performance.
Consistent training
Follow a structured programme and show up consistently. Three sessions a week, done consistently for a year, beats six sessions a week for two months. Consistency is the “supplement” that actually works.
Adequate calories
Eat enough to fuel your goals. Trying to build muscle while massively under-eating is like trying to build a house without bricks. Work out your calorie needs and hit them consistently.
Get the basics right first. Then — and only then — consider spending money on supplements.
